First Steps
Stepping out in faith is a daunting experience. If we focus on the big picture from the start, our fears and insecurities can easily overwhelm us. Instead, often the best way forward is a simple first step in the direction we know to go, trusting that God will give us our next step when we need it.

How do you think the visit with Elizabeth helped Mary?

What other first steps could Mary have taken? How do you think they would have turned out by comparison?

According to David Benner in Desiring God:
“Our kingdom of self may be big or small, but it will be the sphere within which we live and die until we dare to step outside it and embrace the kingdom of God with all our passion.”
How do we see Mary stepping out of the kingdom of self and embracing the kingdom of God?
