A teacher to the core, her greatest passion is designing instruction in ways that lead to deeper understanding. She thrives on the ‘Aha!’ moments of others.

Thus, many of the studies on this website utilize a favored teaching strategy called the Socratic Seminar. This discussion-based format is based around open-ended questions, dealing with enduring themes. The Socratic method encourages wide participation, providing the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others.

When not reading, writing, or teaching, she can be found leading small groups and retreats in her hometown community of Chambersburg, PA.
