“Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’” - Matthew 19:21

Scripture Reading: Matthew 19:16-30

Can you imagine this moment. Here is Jesus, the son of God, offering the rich young man a chance to be part of His inner circle. And the rich young man turns Him down. From our viewpoint, it’s easy to see that the man is making a mistake. What we wouldn’t give to have the chance of walking with Jesus in person. It sounds so much easier than walking by faith.

But today, God offers us the very same invitation as the rich young man, ‘Follow me.’ It is astounding, the God of the universe desires a relationship with us and offers us a role in his plan to redeem the world.
