Risky Living

Week 6

Living Organically

It seems that we have become terrified of loss and risk in our culture. We live in a world of flood, famine, and sickness. Real life means sunny days, cloudy days, and everything in between. So we try to protect against the risks. We irrigate against drought, spray against bugs, and modify the genetic structure of our food crops.

But, at its most basic level, life is risk. If we love, we risk losing. If we live bravely, we risk criticism. If we show our real selves, we risk rejection.

The One we follow suffered all of these things. But knowing from the start what would happen, Jesus still chose to risk living and loving. And He shows us how to follow Him in it.
