Core Question 4:
According to A.W. Tozer in The Wisdom of God:
God turns to the humble heart and says, ‘Here’s my secret. Here’s my jewel. Here is something more valuable than anything else in the universe: the soul of man. That is where I poured my lines and my image. After man, I made angels and archangels and cherubim and seraphim and potentates and powers and dominions, and every name that is named. But it was not to angels or seraphim or cherubim that my Son was sent, but to man.’
From God’s standpoint, what is His jewel? From the Scriptures, we see that the heart of a man, the heart of a woman, the soul of a man or a woman is God’s jewel. God whispers wisdom to the humble in heart. He whispers and pours out His secrets upon the person who hates sin, turns away from iniquity, and puts his trust in God his Savior.
Have you ever read this parable with God being the one who sells everything He has for a great treasure? Do you believe this could be what Jesus was saying about the kingdom of God? How would it change your life if it were true?
